Your Provincetown MA Movie Theater Options: Find the Perfect Place to See a Movie!

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out this movie theater in Provincetown, MA, the Waters Edge Cinema. It’s supposed to be a cool little arthouse spot, and I finally got around to it last weekend. Here’s how it went down.

First off, I started by trying to find out what was even playing there. I just Googled “Waters Edge Cinema Provincetown” and a bunch of results popped up, listing movie times and stuff. Turns out, it’s pretty easy to find what movies are showing and when.

The theater is located on Commercial Street, which is like the main drag in P-town. I found the address online, 237 Commercial St., 3rd Floor. It wasn’t too hard to find once I got into town.

So, I got there and bought a ticket. No biggie there. Then came the big question: where to sit? I remembered reading somewhere that the best place is in the middle, a little bit back from the screen. I looked it up, and it said the best place is between the first and second side surrounds in the center. So that’s what I did. I ended up somewhere in the middle rows, maybe a little bit towards the back. It seemed like a good spot to see the whole screen without having to crane my neck.

The movie started, and honestly, it was a pretty good experience. The sound was good, I could see everything clearly, and it felt like I was right in the action. I guess those articles about where to sit in a movie theater weren’t lying!

Here are some things I noticed about the Waters Edge Cinema:

  • It’s definitely an arthouse cinema. They were showing some independent films that you probably wouldn’t see at a big multiplex.
  • It’s a non-profit, which is kinda cool. I like supporting places like that.
  • It’s open year-round, so you can catch a movie there even in the off-season.

Overall

I’d say it was a good experience. If you’re in Provincetown and you’re looking for something to do, checking out a movie at the Waters Edge Cinema is a solid option. Just remember to sit in the middle, towards the back, for the best view!

I also noticed there are other cinemas around like Wellfleet Cinemas and Chatham Orpheum Theatre. Maybe I’ll check them out later. But for now, I’m pretty happy with my Waters Edge experience.

Oh, one more thing, the cinema is part of the oldest and most vital art colony. That’s what I read online. Pretty impressive!
