Well, I was sittin’ there watchin’ this movie called Long Legs, and let me tell ya, it was somethin’ else. Ain’t your typical kind of movie, y’know? It don’t have them jump scares that make you spill your popcorn all over the place, but instead, it’s got this kind of tension sittin’ on you like a big ol’ sack of potatoes you can’t lift. Real uneasy, like someone’s watchin’ you, even when you’re by yourself. Now that’s a feeling you don’t forget.

The movie’s about this fella, Nicolas Cage, who plays a man involved in a whole bunch of strange happenings. See, he’s got this weird power or whatever, makin’ fathers turn on their own families, like something outta a bad dream. They end up killin’ their own kin, and themselves too, but here’s the twist—he ain’t even touchin’ them. Ain’t layin’ a finger on any of them folks. Just messin’ with their minds, makin’ ‘em do things they’d never normally do. You’d think it’s all a big lie, but nope, it’s happenin’ just like that. Don’t know how he does it, but it’s a real creepy thought.

Now, don’t go thinkin’ this is based on some real-life story or nothin’. Nope, it’s all made up. But the way they set it up, with all them mysterious deaths and the way them folks start actin’ all strange, makes you wonder if somethin’ like that could ever happen. Ain’t too far from the truth, if you ask me.

One thing I gotta say is, Maika Monroe, bless her heart, really shows up in this one. She ain’t one of them actresses that gets a lotta attention, but after this film, people are gonna see just how talented she really is. She plays a woman tryin’ to figure out what’s goin’ on with all these deaths, and she does it so well. I gotta say, she held her own next to Cage, who usually steals the show with his wild, unpredictable ways. But here, Maika keeps you glued to the screen. She’s got this kind of mystery about her that fits perfect with the story.

There’s a whole lotta suspense and dread, but like I said, not many jumps or loud noises to scare ya. Instead, it builds up real slow, until you’re sittin’ there on the edge of your seat, wonderin’ what’s gonna happen next. The deaths? Well, they’re brutal. Ain’t no sugar-coating it. They feel real, like somethin’ that could happen in your own backyard. The filmmakers didn’t hold back on showin’ just how ugly things can get when the mind starts messin’ with you.

The way the movie plays out, you start wonderin’ how it’s all gonna end. There’s a lot of build-up, and while the pacing can be a bit slow at times, it all comes together. Ain’t no happy endings here, folks. But if you’re into them creepy, spine-chillin’ flicks that leave you thinkin’ about ‘em long after the credits roll, then this one might just be worth your time.

Some folks might say it’s a little too slow or maybe not scary enough, but I reckon it’s just the right amount of weird. It’s like a long, dark road that keeps turnin’ until you don’t know which way you’re goin’ anymore. Ain’t that the truth?

Overall, I’d give this one a solid 7 outta 10. Ain’t perfect, but it does what it sets out to do. It’s a real interesting movie with some strong performances and a story that’ll stick with ya. Ain’t too many movies like this, so if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ different, this might be the one to watch on a cold night when you got nothin’ better to do.
