Well now, ya might’ve heard, or maybe not, but there’s somethin’ big goin’ on in Columbus, Georgia this year. A movie’s gettin’ filmed right here in our little ol’ town! Yep, that’s right, a real movie with big stars like James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones. They call it “The Razor’s Edge,” and it’s a thriller or somethin’ like that. I reckon it’ll be full of action, though I can’t tell ya much more ’bout what happens in it, ‘cause I ain’t seen it yet!

Now, y’all might be wonderin’ why in the world would they choose Columbus for such a big production? Well, there’s a few reasons. First off, we got ourselves some good ol’ tax breaks here in Georgia. That means movie folks can save a pretty penny while still makin’ their films look good. But it ain’t just about the money, no sir. Columbus also got some fine weather—plenty of sunshine and it ain’t too hot or too cold. Perfect for folks to work long hours without sweatin’ buckets or shiverin’ their bones off.

And let’s not forget, we got plenty of talented folks in this town. It ain’t just the actors they need, no ma’am. They need folks to build the sets, cater the meals, run the cameras, and all that other behind-the-scenes stuff. Seems like Columbus got it all, and that’s why these movie folks keep comin’ back.

Speaking of comin’ back, some of ya might be wonderin’ about “Cash Out,” a movie with John Travolta in it. Well, that one ain’t comin’ to our theaters, nope. I heard it’s gonna be released online instead. Ain’t that somethin’? Guess AMC don’t like that idea of movies comin’ out on them video-on-demand sites at the same time. But, hey, at least we’ll get to watch it on the screen in our homes.

Now, I’m sure some of ya might’ve seen them big trucks rollin’ down the street, or folks settin’ up lights and cameras on 10th and Bay Ave. The crew’s been busy up there, workin’ hard to turn Columbus into places like “New Jersey” and “Brazil.” I reckon they’re doin’ a mighty fine job if ya ask me! It’s a real sight to see, and I hear they’re gonna be workin’ here for a couple weeks, so don’t be surprised if ya see a few fancy Hollywood types walkin’ around.

As for when the movie will hit the big screen, well, I reckon it’ll be a while. But from what I’ve heard, folks are mighty excited about it, especially since James Franco’s in it. He’s that fella from “Pineapple Express” and some other films, ain’t he? And Tommy Lee Jones, well, he’s been around forever. Guess they wanted some big names to make sure the film gets noticed.

So, if you see some fancy movie folks around Columbus or hear a little noise comin’ from them film sets, don’t be shy. Go on up and take a peek—just be respectful, of course. These movie folks work hard, and I reckon it’s somethin’ special to have ’em right here in our town. Who knows? Maybe someday we’ll be watchin’ that movie right here at the local theater, popcorn in hand, feelin’ all proud that it was filmed in our very own Columbus, Georgia.

Well, that’s all I got to say about it for now. If you happen to run into any of them movie folks, you be sure to give ‘em a warm southern welcome, ya hear? And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the movie when it comes out! It might just be somethin’ we’ll all be talkin’ about for years to come.
