Well now, lemme tell ya, “Saw X” is somethin’ else, ain’t it? It’s one of them movies that sticks in your mind long after you watch it. Now, it ain’t like them other fancy films folks talk about, this one right here is part of that “Saw” series folks been watchin’ for years. If you ain’t never heard of “Saw,” well, it’s all about them traps and folks gettin’ put in real tight situations where they gotta make life-or-death choices. Some folks love it, some folks can’t stomach it, but either way, it’s a movie that’s hard to forget.
Now, this here “Saw X,” it’s sittin’ in between the first and second movies in the series. So, it’s like “Saw 1.5,” if ya will. A lot of people were waitin’ for this one to come out, hopin’ it would bring back the magic from them early days. It’s a bit of a prequel, ya know, tellin’ some stories from before things went real wild in the other movies. The good thing about this one is, it’s got that old feel to it, like when the first one hit and surprised everyone.
The traps in this movie, whew, they sure do deliver! Ya gotta give ‘em credit for that, cause them traps are disgusting, but they ain’t just blood and guts for no reason. They got a bit of a story to ’em, and the folks gettin’ trapped? Well, they all got a reason for bein’ in them awful situations. Some of ‘em deserve it, some of ‘em don’t. It keeps ya thinkin’—who’s right, who’s wrong, and whether they’ll make it out alive.
Now, I ain’t gonna lie to ya, the movie’s gory, sure as shootin’. It’s got all that blood and mess you’d expect from a “Saw” movie, but it ain’t so bad that it’s just outta control. The gore’s there to help tell the story. It ain’t like them other movies where they just toss blood everywhere to shock ya. In “Saw X,” the blood actually makes sense. It adds to the suspense and makes ya think about how far these folks will go to survive.
But, let me tell ya, the plot ain’t all bad neither. For all them gruesome scenes and folks gettin’ all caught up in the traps, there’s a bit of heart to this one. You start to see a little more of where the bad guy’s comin’ from. It don’t just feel like senseless violence, there’s a bit of a reason behind it. The story’s tighter than some of the other “Saw” movies, and that’s somethin’ to be grateful for.
Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect. It ain’t quite as good as them early “Saw” movies. But it’s definitely better than what we got with “Jigsaw” and “Spiral.” After all them years, “Saw X” feels like they finally got back to what made the first ones so popular. It’s a good mix of them old-school traps, but with a newer feel to it. Ain’t no surprise it did well at the box office, grossin’ a whole lotta money worldwide, and folks seem to like it more than some of the others. Even critics are sayin’ it’s one of the best “Saw” films in a long while.
So, is it worth watchin’? If you’re a fan of them “Saw” movies, I’d say sure, go ahead and give it a go. It’s got them traps you love, a bit of a mystery, and a plot that ain’t half bad. But if you ain’t a fan of blood and guts, well, maybe you might wanna sit this one out. It ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. But for those of us who’ve been watchin’ this series for years, “Saw X” is a pretty good time. It don’t completely match the first ones, but it’s a whole lot better than some of the newer ones they tried to push out.
And I reckon there’s a sequel comin’ in 2025, so we’ll see what happens next. But for now, “Saw X” is a solid pick for anyone lookin’ for a good horror flick to get their blood pumpin’ and their heart racin’!
