Well now, let me tell y’all about them movie theaters over in Roswell, New Mexico. I ain’t never been to none of them fancy big cities, but Roswell’s got a couple spots where ya can sit down, kick back, and watch a good flick. Now, I ain’t no expert on movies, but I know a good time when I see it.
First off, we got Apex Cinema down there on Hobbs Street. It’s right there at 900 West Hobbs, and they got themselves a decent little setup. I went there once to see a picture with my grandkids. The place is clean, and folks are friendly. They ain’t tryin’ to make you spend a fortune neither. Regular tickets, they’ll run ya about $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for the little ones. Not bad at all. If you’re lookin’ for matinee showings, they still keep them prices low, so if you’re lookin’ to save a buck, go during the day.
Now, you head on down to Allen Galaxy 8, and that’s another spot I reckon folks from all over Roswell head to for a movie. This one’s at 4501 North Main Street. It’s a little farther out than the Apex, but it’s worth the drive. They got a bunch of screens, so there’s always somethin’ playin’. You know how it is when you got kids or grandkids, they want to see all kinds of pictures. Well, at Allen Galaxy 8, there’s usually about 7 different movies playin’ at once. So ya got plenty of choices to keep everybody happy.
I ain’t one for all the latest gadgets, but if you want to buy tickets ahead of time, they got that online too. Y’all can pick your seat and everything, but I’m old-fashioned, so I just walk right up to the counter. Ain’t no harm in that. Prices there ain’t too bad either, usually the same as Apex, so it ain’t gonna break your bank.
When it comes to what’s showin’, well, they got all kinds of films. I seen a couple of the big ones like them superhero movies, and they got comedies, dramas, and even cartoons for the young’uns. I ain’t gonna lie, I didn’t quite understand all them newfangled plots, but I reckon some of the younger folks enjoy them. Me, I’m more into the simple stuff—good ol’ westerns and a nice drama, something with a happy ending.
If you’re stayin’ around Roswell for a bit, don’t forget to check out them showtimes before you go. Most places, like Apex, they got ’em posted up online, so you ain’t gotta waste no time drivin’ ‘round in circles. But if you do get lost, well, just ask around, and folks’ll point you in the right direction. Ain’t nobody too proud in Roswell to help you find your way.
One thing I gotta say is, even though these theaters are nice, they still got that small-town feel. Ain’t no big crowds, no rush, and no loud fancy talkin’. You can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show, like it used to be. So, next time you’re passin’ through, take a stop and catch a picture. You won’t regret it!
